Current page: Reading the Battlefield
During Attack, read the fortress in layers: where enemies are approaching, which defenses are struggling, and what a warning is telling you.
Scan all four sides before focusing on a single fight. Direction indicators help you notice threats beyond your immediate view. A quiet-looking board can still have trouble approaching from another direction.
A damaged tower has lost health. A tower marked JAMMED is being prevented from firing. The purple tower-local warning helps you distinguish suppression from a tower that simply has no target in reach.
If several defenses go quiet, look for the source of disruption and consider whether a ready support command can relieve the pressure. Meet Support Caster →
Spitter: its targeting cue gives you a chance to recognize an incoming ranged threat. Watch the aimed area, not just the enemy itself.
Exploder Breacher: the orange danger area signals an explosive threat. Pay attention to nearby defenses and crowded approaches.
Drop Crawler: a landing warning draws attention to a threat arriving in an unexpected place. Scan for the landing, then check which defenses can respond.
Are your shots reaching the enemies that matter? Is one side depending on a single active tower? Is a fast enemy passing a defense before it can help? Use those observations to guide the next Build phase.
Approach → warning → defense → response. Find the pressured side, read the cue, check the towers, then decide whether to use support or save the lesson for your next build.
